A highlight of the activities organized by Muslim Outdoor Adventures in 2025

Alhumdulilah, 2025 has been another transformative year for our hiking community. We continued to grow and expand our programming — keeping regular midweek hikes while adding sunrise hikes, sunrise kayaks, Fajr hikes, and multi-day camping trips. Over the year we also organized our first 50KM group hike and hosted multiple Iftar get-togethers that brought members together throughout Ramadan and beyond.

Achievements

Community Growth
Expanded programming & returning members
Charitable Impact
Raised Money for local food bank
Funded another water well

Major Milestones

Operating as a Registered Non-Profit — Year One

After registering as a non-profit the previous year, 2025 was our first full year operating under the organization. That structure allowed us to scale programming, secure funding for community projects (including a new water well), and formalize volunteer leadership and governance.

Program Expansion

We maintained our Wednesday hikes all summer and introduced several regular formats that proved very popular:

  • Sunrise hikes and sunrise kayak trips
  • Fajr stair climbing
  • Weekend camping trips and multi-day outings
  • A community-organized 50KM challenge hike that many members completed
  • Participated in Canada’s Most Active Community Challenge

These additions made our calendar more inclusive for different schedules and fitness levels.

Community Events & Socials

We hosted multiple Iftar get-togethers across the year, providing opportunities for families and members to meet off-trail and build stronger community ties.

Digital Transformation

Events continued to be managed from our website, improving accessibility for members who don’t use social platforms and giving us better event analytics and sign-up workflows.

Hiking & Adventure Highlights

Building on past Bruce Trail trips, 2025 featured longer-distance group hikes and several overnight camping weekends. The 50KM group hike was a major highlight — planned and supported by volunteer leaders and medics, and widely celebrated by participants.

Charitable Impact

In 2025 we raised funds to finance another water well and supported a mix of local and international relief initiatives. Operating as a non-profit helped us manage donations more transparently and run focused campaigns—thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered their time.
